Week 3

I started back to work this week but have seemed to work out a plan to go to the gym without getting up too early and missing some of my quality time with my baby girl. I have been heading to the gym at lunch time. Today was the second day going during lunch. There weren’t too many people yesterday or today so it was nice running and doing weights.

I was hoping my legs would have been a bit more sore because I think I worked them hard yesterday. I have a lot of fat I have to lose in my thighs and mid-section.

Today I was able to run 1/2 mile in one clip. I was exhausted and was fighting shin splints so I was unable to get another 1/2 mile increment in before I had to stop but I plan to try again tomorrow.

Running progress

After nine months of not running, I am back on the treadmill trying to get some distance and breathing back. Since Thursday last week, I have been able to run around 1/4 intervals with walking.

Today I was able to push myself to 3/10 of a mile. Doesn’t sound like much but it is much closer to 1/2 mile.

My little precious daughter slept six hours in a row for the first time in her young 7 week life. It had me a little nervous so I kept checking on her the last hour wondering when she was going to wake up to eat. My husband thought he was taking the middle of the night feeding but ended up overfeeding her 30 minutes after I put her down. Needless to say, we were both arguing at 7am who was supposed to get up with her. We both ended up getting up earlier than we both wanted too anyway. Such is the life with a newborn.

Next week I will shoot for 1/2 mile intervals.

Week 3

Today is week 3 back in the gym. I have been trying to start running again to burn some calories. I was able to run 1/4 of a mile today with some pain in my ankle which I hurt week 1.

Back in the gym again

After nine months of slacking off from being extremely tired and not getting enough rest, Abigail is here and I am recovering from my C-section. So back in the gym I head to lose the weight I gained carrying her. Luckily I don’t have much to lose but I have to lose the weight so I can fit into my clothes.

Today is day two of the Body for Life program. I decided to do it because it is rather simple for me and gives me a consistent routine of working out every day.

I am very sore from my upper body workout yesterday but feel good about how things are progressing. My 20 minute cardio session was very poor today. I had to stop after 15 minutes because I was exhausted. Might be because I was tired from several night feedings for Abigail or the fact that I hadn’t really exercised in over nine months.

Tomorrow is a lower body workout. Hopefully that will progress nicely as well.
